Take Care Of It

Aftercare & FAQ

A great tattoo is half the artist, half how you heal it. Here’s how to keep your new ink looking sharp — plus answers to the questions we hear most.

Healing Your Tattoo

The first two weeks

Your artist will tailor instructions to your piece and the wrap they use. When in doubt, call us — never guess.

Do

  • Leave the initial wrap on as long as your artist tells you (typically a few hours, or 1–3 days for second-skin film).
  • Wash gently with clean hands and unscented antibacterial soap, 2–3 times a day.
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel and apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or recommended ointment.
  • Keep it loose, breathable, and clean while it heals.
  • Drink water, sleep, and let your body do the work.

Don’t

  • Pick, scratch, or peel the scabs — let them flake off on their own.
  • Soak it: no pools, hot tubs, lakes, or long baths for 2–3 weeks.
  • Bake it in direct sun or hit it with a tanning bed while healing.
  • Over-moisturize — a thin layer is plenty; drowning it traps bacteria.
  • Wear tight or dirty clothing over fresh work.

Something not healing right?

Excess redness, swelling, or anything that worries you — call the shop at (706) 850-7007. Touch-ups on our work are handled case by case; we stand behind what we do. For signs of infection, see a doctor.

Good Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Both work. Walk-ins are always welcome when an artist is free — great for flash and smaller pieces. For custom or larger work, book a consultation so we can plan and reserve your time.

How much will my tattoo cost?

It depends on size, detail, placement, and the artist. We have a shop minimum for tiny pieces, and larger work is quoted per session or by the piece. The most accurate number comes from a quick consult — reach out and we’ll give you a real estimate.

Replace with your actual shop minimum & hourly rate before launch.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes — booked appointments require a deposit that goes toward the final cost of your tattoo. It holds your spot and covers the artist’s design time. Deposits are typically non-refundable but can be moved with enough notice.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 or older with a valid, government-issued photo ID. No exceptions, even with a parent present — it’s state law in Georgia.

How should I prepare for my session?

Get a good night’s sleep, eat a solid meal beforehand, and stay hydrated. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area. Skip alcohol the night before and the day of — it thins your blood and affects healing.

Can you do a cover-up of an old tattoo?

Often, yes. Cover-ups depend on the size, color, and age of the existing tattoo. Send us clear, well-lit photos through the booking form and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.

Do you tattoo custom designs I bring in?

Absolutely — custom is what we love. Bring your idea and references and we’ll draw it up in our own hand. We don’t copy another artist’s tattoo exactly, but we’ll happily use it as inspiration.

How do I tip my artist?

Tipping is always appreciated and never required. If you’re happy with your work, cash is great, and so is leaving a review and sending friends our way.
